I remember during the riots in LA when BET (Black Entertainment Television) was a place one could go and get a view from a unique perspective. A ground level unbiased view. I could just imagine how refreshing that would be today when all I see is a Black Church and its Black Minister being driven into the ground by a very biased media. I just imagine that today BET would have played at least a 10 minute segment of the Pastors remarks. I'm sure we would have maybe had an interview from Pastor Wright to at least let him speak in a non-hostile environment. Oh let me wake up BOB JOHNSON sold out.
Not only did BJ sell out he was duped into it. He was on track to have the first black airlines remember. Well that was when the Clintons were in office and Ron Brown was still alive. Anyone remember Ron Brown?, back to that another day. Bob sold out, and never got his airlines, but he did get a basketball team ? Nice trade man,how do you give up your voice in America to own an NBA team which any 10 NBA players could have accomplished together with your guidance. Well Bob has his team, and it was his money but, he traded on the name BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION. From this perspective he sold our voice. BET now may as well be FOX NEWS when it comes to having a Black voice in todays Black issues.
Now some might say there are plenty of Black faces on MSM and the truth is there are. I salute those who go and try to express themselves in the very limited roles usally as invited guest. Now there are those "house" Blacks that get face time everyday as long as they are bashing their own like Juan Williams on Fox. The narrative today is MSM is "Lets have a talk about race" but you can't handle the microphone we will hold it for you and we will set the agenda. Now if you say something we don't like... You won't be invited back to talk. That is why BET was so important and now, well we just dont have it.
